BLAK LINES – call for submissions

 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – TOURING PROJECTS

 Blak Lines is inviting submissions from professional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts companies and independent artists for theatre and dance works to tour nationally in 2016.

If you have a tour-ready contemporary dance or theatre work and you are interested in connecting your work with audiences and communities through community engagement activities, you may wish to submit your proposal for consideration: http://performinglines.org.au/about-us/initiatives/blaklines/

The closing date for applications is Midnight (EST) Friday 23rd May, 2014.

About Blak Lines

Blak Lines is a national touring initiative focused on producing and touring high-quality, contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance and theatre productions which engage and connect to regional and remote audiences, presenters and local communities.  Blak Lines works with a consortium of regional and metropolitan presenters throughout Australia and with a national community cultural reference group.

Following critically acclaimed seasons at the COME OUT Festival and the Darwin Festival (2011), the inaugural Blak Lines tour Wulamanayuwi and the Seven Pamanui is currently underway with a comprehensive national tour taking in WA, Qld, Vic, SA and NSW from March to June this year.
