The music of J.S. Bach will come alive in Sydney at two very special performances by Bach Akademie Australia

Internationally acclaimed Australian violinist, director and concertmaster Madeleine Easton, founded Bach Akademie Australia, an Australian ensemble to rival any instrument ensembles around the world to bring the great musical tradition of Europe to Sydney.

In March, the music of J.S. Bach will come alive in Sydney at two very special performances. Bach Akademie Australia and their newly formed choir will perform two of Bach’s greatest Cantatas and the rarely performed Ascension.

Join the Akademie for the heartbreaking BWV 12 featuring the celebrated Australian Oboist Emma Black, the thunderous BWV 20, Bach’s homage to the French musical style, and the joyous Ascension Oratorio.

For the first time, Bach Akademie Australia will perform with a full choir of hand-picked singers from around Australia including four internationally regarded vocal soloists:

Amy Moore (Soprano), Tobias Cole (Alto), Richard Butler (Tenor), David Greco (Bass)

Here is an excellent and ambitious new ensemble, each of its musicians expertly trained by the best in the world and all carrying significant international experience, creating a standard of Baroque performance rarely heard in Australia.” David Barmby, ArtsHub
