Every performance of Violins of Hope is a monument to a boy, a girl, a man, a woman who cannot speak anymore. It reminds us that as long as the song of a violin can be heard, there is a reason to have hope. Anom Weinstein

This moving and pertinent true story tracks the many violins which were saved during and after World War II by a family of luthiers, the Weinsteins.

The violins are exhibited at Yad Vashem, Israel.

The lives of families affected by World War II and the Nazi regime are framed in the fate of their violins. The families cannot speak to us, but the violins’ perpetuation of musical voices give expression to the fates of Jews from pre-war Germany through to the end of World War II.

Live music curated for the play by Dr Noreen Green, founder and conductor of the Los Angles Jewish Philharmonic Orchestra.

Presented by Moira Blumenthal Productions and Shalom
