Wednesday 19 February, 2014The fourth in the series of  Love Me returns at a new venue – The Basement – on February 19.With a stellar line up of stars, headlined by the iconic Toni Childs in her only Sydney show, Love Me is a sonic assortment of unique performers navigating the tumultuous journeys of love and life, with an unpredictable selection of originals, collaborations, reinterpretations and surprising acts.

Delving into everything from soaring ballads to sultry blues, heartbreaking opera to electro-pop and burlesque, this very special collection of Australian and international artists come together for one night only.

Featuring..

TONI CHILDS is a multi-Award winning artist, best known for hit songs such as ‘Don’t Walk Away’, ‘Many Rivers to Cross’ and ‘Stop Your Fussin’. With her captivatingly powerful vocals and charismatic live presence, Toni Childs will interpret love and life like possibly nobody else on this planet, sharing new material for the first time.

TARITA BOTSMAN is an opera singer, recitalist, actress, musical theatre and operetta singer. Having made her professional opera debut at 22 for Opera Queensland, Tarita has since amassed an extensive operatic repertoire as well as appearing in musical theatre productions including Westside Story, as a soloist with leading orchestras in Australia and internationally, and more recently founded The 7 Sopranos aiming to bring opera to a wider audience.

DAMIAN ROSS is a highly accomplished musical theatre performer, dancer and vocalist.. and alter-ego of leading Sydney drag artiste Freeda Corsett. Damien originated the role of Bernadette in the premiere stage production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and has since reprised this role in the West End production.

LILIKOI KAOS is a circus, vaudeville, cabaret and burlesque artist. Difficult to define and Impossible to resist, Lilikoi is a second generation contemporary circus performer, having grown up travelling the world as part of an international community of innovative artists. Drawing inspiration from around the globe, her performing style is both unique and skilful. Lilikoi has dazzled audiences around the world, performing everywhere from intimate cabarets to circus tents and beyond.

The TWOKS
The Twoks are Xani Kolac (electric violin/vocals) and Mark Leahy (drums). The duo make happy dance music with a dark twist. The Twoks have played St Kilda Festival (MEL), DARK MOFO (TAS), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (UK), Woodford Folk Festival (QLD) and a stack of other gigs, clubs, parties and cities. The pair have release three CDs, including their latest LP including half an hour of instrumental improvisations. They released their single “Sailor” last year and are releasing a brand new single, “First Light” this summer produced by Tony Buchen (The Preatures, Andy Bull).

QUEENIE VAN DE ZANDT is an award winning actress well known for her versatility as a performer having worked extensively in musical theatre, plays, and cabaret, on television and film, and as a recording artist, comedienne and writer. Queenie is best known for her extensive work in musical theatre and cabaret and has just finished playing the role of Cassandra in the new Australian musical King Kong.

LANCE HORNE, musical director and resident New Yorker, is a celebrated musician composer lyricist and performer who works with leading voices of music- cabaret world, including Alan Cumming, Liza Minnelli, Meow Meow, Justin Bond Amanda Palmer, to name a few.
